Flowers Around Makati
Taking a walk along Makati avenue the other day I found some flowers. In my walks so far I am finding that, other than the beautiful Filipine women, there are not as many flowers as I would think in a warm moist tropical climate like here. I have many more places yet to walk so there could be a treasure trove just around any corner. You can click any image to see it larger.
I am not very knowledgeable on flower names. Do you know the names of any of these?
This last one looks familiar from the USA but the others do not so much, particularly the first one.

Makati is a mix of old and new
Like this old but new Jeepney. Jeepneys grew from the US leaving Jeeps here after WWII but are now produced locally. There is a smaller personal size version that really shows its 1940's roots. I will show you one later.
Outside the same building from across the street.
Though much of Makati is sparkling new there are some older sections you will be seeing later.

Pictures Surround Makati
A nice image is a discovery. They exist by themselves alone in the universe waiting to be found. I live in Makati, Manila, Philippines now and will be taking some walks and some travels around Makati City and the Philippines and sharing some of the images that found me.
For you camera geeks I will mostly be shooting with my trusty Konica Minolta Dimage A2. It is 8 mega pixels and even though many newer cameras have fabulous features I have found this camera quite nice to use.
I take pictures for the joy of discovering a nice image. If you like them, fine, if not fine. The Philippines is an interesting place and for me almost every place I walk I have never been.
